Rally Car Repairs

Here is a car that we are about to start repairing (Nov. 2008). Watch this space to keep an eye on progress.

This car belongs to Colin Stewart, Managing Director of Motorsport World, who was competing in his first forest rally - the Solway Coast 2008. Prior to the event Johnnie Johnston Motorsport had put a lot of work into strengthening the roll cage which included the fitting of substantial door bars. This car left the road at about 60mph into a stump field, flipped end over end, then rolled about four times as it fell a distance of about 80 feet down a hill side being thumped by tree stumps all the way. Both occupants escaped unharmed. You can see how the door bars and the cage above the drivers head saved the driver from serious injury. Oh, and Johnnie was fine too.......
