After
3.5 years faithful service my trusty steed is regretfully up for
sale. This surely has to be the ultimate hatchback! We have used
it as the family car but it also has phenominal performance for
fun on the back roads. It is running around 290-300bhp with KW coilover
suspension and uprated Tarox brakes. The STi comes with a close-ratio
quick-shift gearbox and a higher final drive ratio - all adding
up to great acceleration and a beautiful gearchange. Having said
all that, it can still sit comfortably at high speed all day on
the motorway - we took it to the South of France a couple of years
ago. And if its such a great car, why am I selling it? The reason
is at the bottom of the page.....
WRX STi2 5 Door Specification
- Blue printed engine (this means it is built to higher tolerances
which makes it more robust).
- Larger turbo than UK models (comes in with a punch!).
- Standard power = 256 bhp.
- Gold 7 x 16 inch alloys.
- Close ratio gearbox with quick-shift gearchange.
- Higher final drive ratio (4.444:1) than UK spec.
- Stronger front and rear differentials than UK spec.
- Heavier duty drive shafts.
- Carbon fibre front strut brace.
- 2 large spoilers on the back (improves the look of the rear
of the 5 door in my opinion).
- Nardi leather steering wheel.
- STi bucket-style seats with suede inserts.
Modifications
- Hayward & Scott downpipe.
- Black Diamond exhaust with decat pipe.
- Chipped - unknown type but the engine has run faultlessly for
3.5 years.
- Uprated fuel pump (a definite must when fully decatting an Impreza).
- KW Variant 3 coilover suspension (original suspension available).
- Tarox 40 groove G88 discs all round.
- Tarox Rally Plus pads on the front.
- Tarox Rally pads on the rear.
- Goodridge stainless steel braided hoses.
- AP clutch fitted about 1,000 miles ago.
History
I bought the car in November 2001 from a well off Australian chap
in Edinburgh who had lavished care on it. Being an Australian, he
knew his Scoobies (they have loads 'down under') and he trawled
the UK importers for a good silver STi 5 door. When he bought it
in November 1999 there was 28k on the clock and he kept all receipts
of work he had done on the car. I also still have the original import
documents and all UK MOT's. I got to speak to his mechanic who confirmed
how much care and money had been spent on it. Since purchasing the
car I have serviced and worked on it myself or had one of my staff
do the work. It has had regular oil changes with fully synthetic
oil - either Silkolene or Millers. Both myself and the previous
UK owner have run it on super unleaded with octane booster.

Reason for sale....
Need I say more!
Immaculate 22B with only 26k on the clock.
For those who don't know, its a close replica of Colin McRae's
championship winning car. There was a limited run of 400 worldwide.
