HKS PISTONS
HKS Forged aluminium pistons are complete sets including piston rings, gudgeon pins and retaining clips. Piston sets are available in standard cylinder bore size, as well as over-bore sizes. The surfaces and top ring bands of HKS pistons are nickel plated and are highly resistant to damage caused by pre-ignition.
HKS CAMSHAFTS
HKS high performance camshafts are CAD designed to optimize torque and horsepower over the widest possible power band. Each camshaftapplication is offered in multiple profiles, each with their own duration and lift characteristics to suit various levels of tuning. Lower profiles offer substantial gains in power and a broad useable power band throughout the rpm range with little compromise in driveability. High profiles offer greater increases in power, but are tailored for higher RPM range and racing. Increases performance from the HKS camshafts are achieved by: 1) Increasing the duration of valve opening, which increases power at higher RPM, and 2) Increasing lift, which raises torque. All HKS camshafts are made from billets of high nickel content iron alloy, not reground stock units, so they equal or exceed OEM units they are designed to replace. The camshafts are direct replacements and are designed to be compatible with factory followers and valve springs. HKS also offers high performance valve spring sets for limited applications that benefit from stiffer springs when using higher profile HKS camshafts.
HKS ADJUSTABLE VERNIER CAM GEARS
HKS adjustable cam gears allow fine tune adjustments to cam timing to maximise engine performance and tailor power characteristics for various driving conditions. By using a laser etched vernier scale, increments of 0.2deg are attainable.
HKS CONNECTING RODS
HKS H-Section Connecting rods are designed for high performance engines in which expansive stresses during high rpm often cause a factory supplied connecting rod to fail. Designed using advanced CAD and FEA engineering software, the rods have been specified from high grade treated and conditioned billet steel. The result, is a connecting rod suitable for the most demanding engines with a racing purpose.
HKS VALVE SPRINGS
HKS valve springs are performance springs specifically designed for use with HKS camshafts. As valve train dynamis change with the use of high performance cam profiles and greater lift, stiffer springs are needed to optimize valve movement. When changing to a high lift cam, stock springs cannot match the increased valve train movement, therefore HKS engineered valve springs are matched to the characteristics of HKS camshafts. A stringent shot peening and heat treatment process is applied to the springs to provide durable and consistent spring rates over time. Applications with high revving engine will benefit from HKS valve springs, as the risk of valve-float is greatly reduced due to their specific design and construction.
HKS CRANKSHAFT/STROKER KITS
HKS stroker kits are engineered and designed to increase displacement whilst increasing engine strength and durability. Depending on the application, the kit comprises of a combination of a stroked billet/forged crankshaft, h-section billet rods and forged aluminium pistons.
METAL HEAD GASKETS
HKS metal head gaskets are constructed from multiple layers of steel to ensure proper head to block sealing under the most demanding high performance conditions. To ensure gasket integrity, each HKS head gasket is made from a special metal that resists sever levels of heat that is generated from high horsepower and high-boost. In addition to the durable internal construction, all HKS head gaskets are coated with a special fluorine rubber to provide ultimate sealing. HKS head gaskets are designed for to accommodate over sized pistons and altered compression ratios. For certain applications, multiple gasket thicknesses are available to change the dynamic compression ratio for various levels of tuning and engine conditions. |
